There are few cars like the VW Beetle, whose charming character has sneaked into people's hearts forever. More than 21.5 million of the world's most sold cartype the least developed during its entire production period, found owners so it is not at all surprising that anyone can recall the unique shape of the type. Anyway, in the 1950s, in America, the car started to be called a bug.
Mass production of the Volkswagen Beetle started in the summer of 1945. The very first copies went to the German post office and the occupying forces, and from 1946 the door was opened to private individuals for a price of just 5,000 deutsche marks. The one millionth car was completed on August 5, 1955.
The last VW Beetle produced in Germany was a 1303 convertible, which left the production line on January 10, 1980. In total, approximately three hundred thousand cabrios were produced in Germany, so we can feel very lucky to be the owners of a 1977 1303 convertible..
Our Maggiolino was put on the market in Rome and ran its first 55,000 km there. After that, we brought him from his first owner. We feel that this car chose us and we also love it from the very first time. Its name also remained because of its Italian, as Maggiolino means beetle in italian. 🙂
The red roof and side trims give this cult car a very elegant look, whether it's a weekend drive or a special wedding!
